Today we will be looking at THE BIBLE!
The reason we are able to do so much is because we have a guide. This guide is the Bible. It contains God's Word.
The Bible is a special gift to us from God. It is a book containing a written format of His thoughts towards us.
God gave us the Bible so we can study it and not keep it in our rooms so that when they ask you, "Brother, do you a have Bible?" Then you say, "Oh yes." Then you go and get it, feeling okay."
The Bible is not meant for your room, but for your heart, for your spirit man.
1 Timothy 2 verse 15 says,
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
The Bible is meant to be studied. You should know the Word for yourself.
Don't say, "Am I a Pastor?" You don't need to be a Pastor to study the Bible. You study for you, it is for your everyday life.
If you are asking, "Am I a Pastor?" The answer is yes because the Bible says you have been ordained by God! See that in Jeremiah 1 verse 5.
So, you are already rightly positioned if that is what you were thinking.
The Bible is a treasure, a wonderful treasure. The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is meant to build us up and as you study it, can deliver your inheritance to you.
Studying the Bible is paramount for every child of God. Never be ashamed to study it because you think it will begin to reveal alot of things about what you do to you. If it does, the Bible says,
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3 verse 16. Praise God.
It is an instruction manual for life. If you had a device, you would need the manual to operate it correctly else, you may have it damaged. Same way, the manual for your life is the Bible. Some have had their lives damaged by not studying the Scriptures. This should not be you.
...through knowledge shall the just be delivered.... Proverbs 11 verse 9.
When you KNOW, you are delivered and not just delivered, but delivered into your inheritance.
When you study the Bible, you are able to live the authentic Christian life, handle, life's issues, solve challenges, and you are also able to proffer solution and help others win in life.
Do not neglect the Scriptures.
Let's turn our Bibles to John 5 verse 39
It says, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Note the word search, it means, to do a delegent study.
If you want to know more about God, you have to study the Bible.
You have to take out time to meditate on the Scriptures. Meditating on the Scriptures has the ability to make your way prosperous and give you good success.
Turn to Psalm 1 verses 2 to 3
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth He meditate day and night.
And He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever He doeth shall prosper.
Also turn to Joshua 1 verse 8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
You have it made when you meditate on the Word. Praise God!
The Word of God contained in the Scriptures never fades out. Jesus said, in Matthew 24 verse 35, Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
It's not there today and tomorrow, you don’t need it anymore. God's Word is forever, it's from generation to generation.
Also, never be ashamed to carry your Bible around. Some put it in between a newspaper so people don't know what they are carrying even when they are going to Church.
This shouldn't be so for the child of God.
Paul says in Romans 1 verse 16
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation..."
Never be ashamed to be a Christian in public. Be proud because of what Jesus did for you. He paid for you to give you a beautiful life. This is not something you should be ashamed of. You ought to be proud, boldly telling others what Jesus did for you and for them as well.
