LIVING A GODLY LIFE

Pastor Cheri

Your life should be characterized and described as Jesus-like. Your life should not be short of this.
Everywhere you go and and in all that you do, people should be able to identify you with Jesus
You say, "But Jesus is God and He is perfect, He was not a human being."

Jesus when He was on earth, lived 100% God and 100% Man. He lived like men do even if He was God.
He had feelings.
The Bible says
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4 verse 15

He wept on the cross.
Jesus wept. John 11 verse 35

He was angry at the temple.
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. Matthew 21 verses 12 to 13

Moreover, the Bible calls you perfect
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: Colossians 2 verse 10

Complete here means perfect. You are just like Jesus. As He is, so are you in this world. 1 John 4 verse 17.

You are already like Him. His nature and character are in you. So at any time, you'll find yourself doing what He would have done in any situation.

We have just talked about Jesus and how we connect with Him in all things. Jesus is our example of godliness. We can also take examples from men of God in the Bible.

Take for instance, Apostle Paul. The Bible says,
And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, Acts 17 verse 2.

Paul had a habit of going to the synagogue. The verse says, "...as his manner was...."
This habit was also found with Jesus. The Bible says,
And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as his custom was, He went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. Luke 4 verse 16.
Jesus had a habit of always being in the temple.
This is a godly habit.

Your life and activities should be centred around the house of God. Get used to the house of God.

We also have the prayer habit.
Turn to Daniel Chapter 6 verse 10
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, He went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, He kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as He did aforetime.

This was Daniel's habit. He prayed three times a day.

What is your prayer life like? You should be a man or woman of prayer. It is part of your way of living. Hallelujah!

We also have the habit of studying God’s Word.
2 Timothy 2 verse 15 says, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Make the Word of God number one priority in your life.

We have the habit of Soul Winning. Jesus preached, He won souls, infact, He was A Mster Soul Winner.
Turn your Bibles to Matthew 4, from verse 18
And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19 And He saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
21 And going on from thence, He saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them.
22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and He healed them.
25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.

This habit should be found with you. Don’t let anyone leave you without Jesus.  Make it a conscious habit to bring people into the Kingdom of God. They should follow you just like Jesus and even more, since He told us we would do greater works. John 15 verse 12.

These godly habits influence and affect you positively. They help to program you for success and consistent progress in your life.

Children should be taught early on godly habits. Their senses and minds get adjusted to that kind of living, which eventually becomes a part of them.
Proverbs 22 verse 6, Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

God's Word has been given to us to build and form our character. As you spend time with the Word, it will position you rightly at all times, causing you to walk according to God’s plan for you.

Hallelujah! Have you been blessed? Live up to your calling, live up to your godly life calling. Lift up your hands and worship God right now!
