THANKING GOD - THANKSGIVING

Pastor Cheri Isioma Ajufo

There were ten lepers in the Bible whom Jesus healed.
Let's turn our Bibles to Luke 17, from verse 12

And as He entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
And when He saw them, He said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
And one of them, when He saw that He was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and He was a Samaritan.
And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
And He said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

From the story, we take note of the attitude of one of the lepers. He came back to give thanks to God.
The Bible is a guide on how to live our lives as Christians.

There is a blessing that goes with giving thanks. This is the blessing of wholeness. You are made whole. Hallelujah!
To be made whole means, to restore back to you, all you had lost. This includes any money, time, resources..., you would have spent, they would all be restored back to you.

In the case of the ten lepers, they would have lost their extremities, their fingers and toes. Leprosy usually leads to loss in these areas of the body.
So, the one who came back to give thanks, had these parts restored back. Hallelujah! Jesus said to him  "...Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole..."
He was made whole. Praise God!

When last did you give God a thanksgiving offering.

Thanksgiving is not once in a while, it's all the time. We put specific times to thank God not just to make everyone get involved but, also a way to celebrate our testimonies. God has done something, so we have come to celebrate with a seed to show appreciation for what He has done.

You can also thank the Lord ahead for expected miracles. You seal your miracle that way with a seed. After your seed sowing, you should be living in "after your miracle" because God has done it. You testified with a seed, your thanksgiving seed.

This is the attitude of a believer, you learn to say thank you, in this case, to God!

Jesus always gave thanks.
He gave thanks when He was about to raise Lazarus from the dead. He said, “…Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me” John 11:41.

He gave thanks when He fed the 5,000. The Bible says, “And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would” John 6:11.

All Jesus did resulted in miracles.
Your thanksgiving will result into miracles! Hallelujah!

Have a thanksgiving attitude and live that way! Praise God!

You should also always maintain this attitude no matter what.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV says,
Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Give thanks, no matter what. This is what gets you out of that situation. When you thank God, you do it by faith knowing that your miracle is sure! Hallelujah!
True Christianity is living by faith.
When you thank God, you are not thanking Him for what He is about to do, but for what He has done.
He says in 2 Peter 1:3
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Also, 1 Corinthians 3:21 says,
Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;

God has done it! So you give Him thanks for that.

As you give your thanksgiving offering today, you declare, "Father, I thank you for with this seed, I correct every thing that is inconsistent with your will, plans and purposes for me. I walk in the light of my divine inheritance, in Jesus Name. Amen"

Thanksgiving today shouldn't end here, it should be part of our daily lives. Hallelujah!
Make out time to always appreciate God for His miracles and celebrate your testimonies. Praise God.
