Pastor Cheri
You have received the Holy Spirit as a child of God so you must and should always take advantage of His indwelling presence in you.
He didn't come to live in you to fill up the space, no! He came to take His place in you because you need Him for everything you do. He became dependent on, when you received Him into you. You cannot do without or live without the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!
You live for Him. Praise God!
Let your life be controlled by the Spirit in all that you do.
Ephesians 5:18
"And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;"
You should be full until it controls you. Just like a drunken man when he is drunk, he sways and is controlled by the drink, he staggers from one end to another, the same way, you should be controlled by the Spirit, be drunk with the Spirit all the time.
Our focus on the Scripture we just read is not on the wine, but what should replace it, so you don't start debating whether to drink or not. Let the Spirit take control of you, yield to His leading and let Him control you, be full of the Spirit always.
There is a day-to-day infilling of the Spirit you must experience in order to live a higher life of glory to which you have been called.
Now, how do you get filled with the Spirit? The Bible says, "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;"
The other part says
"Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God."
Ephesians 5:20-21.
You have to consciously talk, sing and make melody of the Word in your heart. Sometimes it bubbles up, sometimes you have to consciously make it happen. As you do this, you get full of the Spirit, fully controlled by the Spirit. Also, you give thanks unto God and the Father for all things in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ and submit yourself to others in holy reverence.
You should do this all the time consciously to keep yourself full of the Spirit. When you live like this, the Spirit brings boldness into your life. You don't try to muster boldness to say or do things. You won't try to stir Him up or stir up power in the face of circumstances and situations, you just know what to do. You are full of wisdom, you speak the Wisdom or God in any situation and you win. Hallelujah! All these because you are full of the Spirit.
You have to dominate your world, your environment, satan and his cohorts and all the forces of life, if you want to see God's glory in your life. You must dominate sickness, disease and infirmity for your life to show forth the praises of God!
Constantly practice being filled with the Spirit, do this daily, nothing would be impossible to you this way. All challenges would become bread for you.
Be perpetually high on the Holy Ghost. Be Spirit-ruled and Spirit-controlled! Just like that drunk fellow can't do without the drink even in the early hours of the day, don't do without the Holy Ghost. He is the one to help you out of that situation so you should let Him overwhelm you, your mind and your thinking processes, and cause you to act and do it right.
Before long, you find yourself testifying of your miracle. This is what the Holy Spirit can achieve with you as you get full of Him. He is the secret to your all-round success. Let Him gain the ascendancy in your life, leave the how to Him, He'll sort it all out.
You cannot live or do without the Spirit. The solution you are searching for is in Him; and if you have been searching, search no more for the answer has come. You have come to the last point, search no further, grab your victory and start reigning in life.
So start now, start speaking to yourself in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, making melodies in your heart to the Lord, give thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God."
Hallelujah!
Lift up your hands and worship the Lord!
