OUR DEAR SHEPHERD 1

Pastor Cheri

The Lord is many things to us. This is because we need Him for so many things in all areas of our lives. When we call upon Him in a specific area, it's as though no other area exists until He is through with what we need Him for, in that area. We need Him for anything and for everything.

As His kids, we can call Him Father, as our Master, we can call Him Lord, as our Maker, we can call him Creator.  We even go on to add Precious Father or Precious Lord to make it sweet. All these because we want Him well presented in that area that we need Him to function in at that time.

We would be looking at one very important area, one area that we need Him especially in our Christian life and in our Christian walk. This area helps us grow up to maturity. This is the area where people learn what is right and what is wrong, the area you know what to do and what not to do. You experience in this area, His Lordship and leading such that you are directed in the path you ought to be walking in, you do not miss your way. You are being piloted on your destiny path.

We all need and are supposed to be functioning in this area, because without it, you wouldn't have direction as a Christian, you wouldn't know the path you are supposed to follow. He is supposed to be leading you in this area so you do not miss your way.

There are many paths to follow but only one is meant for you and to discover that one you have to be led by the Lord. You can't know this on your own. He is your creator so he is meant to show you the destiny He has planned for you, He knows the kind of life He has arranged for you and He is there to guide you into living that life.

He'll help us become what He has planned for us to be. He'll bring us into full knowledge of how to live our lives the way He has planned and destined it to be.

This area is the area of being our Shepherd. The Lord is our Shepherd, we are His sheep. He leads us through life, shielding us from danger where necessary and brings us up to our destinations, that is where God has planned for us to be.

The lamb follows the sheep, while the sheep follows the Shepherd this is why we are following our Shepherd because we are His sheep. He is the one leading us. He leads us into our destinies in Him.

Turn your Bibles to Psalm 23:1. It says,
"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want."
This verse tells us He is our Shepherd, so we know He is our Shepherd. Wow! So good to know that the Lord is our Shepherd. The Creator of the universe is our Shepherd! Hallelujah!

From the verse, "...Lord..." means Master, Bread Provider,....
The Lord is our Master and Bread Provider. This means we cannot and should not lack bread. He is our evalasting supply.
We can therefore read it as, The Bread Provider is my Shepherd, I shall not want. This means, I have my needs met. If He is my Bread Provider, then I shall not want bread or any good thing. I can trust Him for that. No reason for worry or anxiety in my life, I have all my needs met. No wonder the Bible says,
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

The New King James Version says,
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

So there is no need for a blue day in my life, I don't have to worry, all I  need to do  is make my requests known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and mind through Christ Jesus." Hallelujah!

What love God shows to His kids, He never wants you to suffer or be in need. He gave birth to you so He is there to take care of  you. He is there so you'll never want any good thing. He'll give you exactly what you need or want and not otherwise. Be rest assured that He knows what you need because He knows you. He knows you more than you know yourself, He knows exactly what you need. Praise God!

Luke 11:11 says,
"If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will He give him a stone? or if He ask a fish, will He for a fish give him a serpent?"

If your earthly parents can take care of you this much, how much more your heavenly Father who loves you much more? You should expect something better when it comes to God taking care of you. Praise God! He knows what you need, so He'll give it to you.

Let's get back to Psalm 23. It says,
"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters." Psalm 23:2
We take note from the verse that, He makes you lie down, not sit down or stand up or jump around, but lie down. You are lying down because you are full, full with good things, full with abundance and prosperity, and you are lying on green pastures. Meaning you are lying down in abundance, you are lying down in prosperity. Hallelujah!
So you are filled with what you are lying down on. Glory to God.

We are so privileged and blessed to have such a God as our Father who gives us freely and richly all things to enjoy.
"Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;" 1 Timothy 6:17.
God loves us so much and ready to do all that will make us live a balanced Christian life. We are not meant to suffer or be in lack, we are meant to live life to the full, enjoying ourselves. So carry this mindset, your life is meant to be enjoyed. Hallelujah!

The other part says, "...He leadeth me beside the still waters." This means He leads you in quiet places, restful streams. Glory to God! You can be at peace anywhere. Hallelujah! You find yourself in a place where there is so much noise, but you are at peace, there is this calmness with you all the time. This is to say, the God of peace has become Lord over your life.
This peace is that peace that passes all understanding.
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7.
This peace has been made available to you. Praise God!

We will continue in our next Service.

Lift up your hands and worship the Lord!
