WHEN WE BREAK BREAD

Pastor Cheri Isioma Ajufo

Praise God!
Just like prayer, the importance and relevance of breaking bread to our lives is far more than our imaginations. Some Christians only break bread when we call for the Communion Service or any other special meeting in Church.
Breaking bread is part of our lives. Hallelujah!
Before Jesus was crucified, He broke bread with His disciples. This was symbolic of His body broken for us. His blood was shed so that sin cannot have power over us.He instructed His disciples to do this."And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me." Luke 22 verse 19.
We find this also in 1 Corinthians 11 verse 23 to 26."For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which He was betrayed took bread:And when He had given thanks, He brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.After the same manner also He took the cup, when He had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till He come."
He even goes ahead to tell us what happens as we do this. He says, "ye do shew the Lord's death till He come." Hallelujah!
Whenever we break bread, we remind ourselves of the death burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We also affirm ourselves with the Church where we belong.
When we break bread, we’re celebrating His finished works on the Cross.
The Communion is a vital part of our Christian walk. It shows the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Whenever we break bread, we remind ourselves that, His body was broken for us. This means you can never again be broken in any area of your life, be it your health, job, business, family,.... Glory to God!
The Communion is a reminder of these things, so we can live with and in this consciousness. It should be done often.Acts 2 verse 42 says,And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
The Communion should be taken with reverence and not anyhow. Without this, leads to weakness, sickness and even death.1 Corinthians 11 verse 27."Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.For He that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep."
The Communion is not your breakfast, dinner or lunch. It is the body and blood of Jesus. If you are hungry, eat at home and fill yourself. Praise God!"And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come."1 Corinthians 11 verse 34.
When we need to change anything, haven prayed, fasted, sown seeds, you know it's time to break bread. Hallelujah! As you take the bread, you declare every, pain gone, every sickness gone, poverty gone, fear and anxiety, gone....
You can go ahead even after the Service, using the Scripture in 1 Corinthians 11 from verse 23, take bread and get wine.Take the Communion, declaring your victory over this realm and affirming your victory in Christ.
Hallelujah! Go ahead now and speak in tongues!
