Pastor Cheri
Many have thought that when you live godly, you live like a coward, or you begin to live stupid. No! Living godly has nothing to do with all that.
When you are termed godly, you are being associated with a life that portrays God, that shows you are a Christian. A life with a Character built up from the Word. This is called a godly character. This announces who you are even before you speak. It tells people that you are a Christian.
Sometimes, you could notice some people who you know they can never get involved in some kind of things. You knew because they were godly, they had a godly character. You would never see them do some certain things in public. You would immediately vouch for them if that kind of life was associated with them. This is because you know them with their godly life.
You should be identified with this kind of life. People should be able to vouch for what you can or cannot do. Let them see God in you, let it be natural for them to see you living godly. This is the kind of life you walked into upon giving your life to Christ. You were given a nature that depicts God's nature. You carry it everywhere and anywhere. It's not for some places or at some occasions, it's your way of living.
Being godly doesn't mean you are a coward or you are stupid!
Refusing to fight in public doesn't make you stupid, it displays your self-control attitude which is a godly virtue. You cannot find yourself in that kind of display, you know who you are. You are too godly for that. Hallelujah!
Refusing to quarrel or be involved in something dirty, doesn't make you stupid. You are a king and so you live like one. Hallelujah!
Let nothing stop you from living like who you are. Anything trying to stop you is not of God. You should live as who you are at every point in time. Don’t negotiate with the wrong life by trying to live that way. Your way is not linked there, but here, the godly way.
As you live this life, you attract many into the Kingdom, souls are won through you. People love to and want to identify with you. Before you say anything, they have agreed. They see God in you and in all that you do. You minister to them whenever they see you.
If it's that way with you, you have to take advantage of the opportunity to bring them into the Kingdom. Minister the Word, get them born again and bring them to Church.
These are people who are to start living godly just like you. When we have many of such, you can imagine what the world would be like. Praise the Lord! A world full of godly men and women.
The Sriptures outline for us these godly virtues. Turn to 2 Peter 1:5-7. It says,
"And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity."
Having these makes you produce much, makes you fruitful and productive in every good work. Hallelujah!
"For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 1:8.
With the godly life, you stand out anywhere and in all things. You are topnotch, first class in every area, different from everyone else, you are just like Jesus. Hallelujah!
The Bible says,
"Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world."⁴ 1 John 4:17.
We are just like Jesus, "already are" not "about to be." Hallelujah! We are godly, just like Him, as godly as He is. We live just like Him. Hallelujah!
Let your life be known for godliness. Preach the gospel with your Christian character. Hallelujah!
Lift up your hands and worship the Lord right now, thank Him.
